Often referred to locally as the "Burn" Building, the Live Fire Training Building is a three-story structure in which a wide variety of emergencies can be simulated or duplicated. The first and second floor offer four fire spaces for conducting live LP Gas fire drills that are safe and repeatable. The third floor has two burn spaces for Class A combustibles. The first floor has a ceiling pull area for overhaul practice and a wall break-out area, as well as a roof mockup and Denver roll-out box for firefigher safety and escape training. The Live Fire Training Building also contains a working elevator, enunciator panel and fire pump for high rise scenarios. The building's two interior and one exterior stairways, several balconies, and solid anchor points for rope tie-offs are frequently used for rescue and survival training. There is also an air compressor available for refills of up to 4500 psi.
